Coin Business Burglary Shakopee, MN

Investigators with the Shakopee, MN police department are investigating the late night burglary of Aztec Coin & Precious Metals. The suspects broke into the business and attempted entry to the safe but was apparently scared off by the alarm. However, the suspects did take an attache case containing the following coins and currency.

Currency: $100 Small size Norther National Bank of Duluth Minnesota Charter #9327 Serial #C000555?, $5 Large size National Bank of Lavern Minnesota #8977, $10 Large size First National Bank Tracy Minnesota Charter # 4992 Serial#17, $800 face in Silver cert, red seals & nationals $1-$50 denominations.

Major Chilean Coin Collection Stolen

Santiago Chile authorities are investigating the theft of a major Chilean coin collection valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The collection included a complete 8 Reales series of Santiago which includes a Pillar dollar and a 8 Reales CIII type, in addition to all the dates for Charles IV and Ferdinand VII in all varieties, a series that includes 70 different pieces. Also taken were approximately 20 Chile Independent coins and several hundred colonial coins, republican, 200 pattern pieces and hundreds of error coins (approx 400). Coins from Peru, Mexico and Potsi, including a collection of approximately 300 silver cobs. Thousands of coins were taken in this offense.

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.

Dealers Vehicle Burglarized After FUN Show

The Orange County, Florida Sheriff’s Department is investigating the burglary of a dealers vehicle which occurred at a fast food restaurant a short distance from the FUN show.

Burglary Saratoga Springs, New York

Investigators with the Saratoga Springs, New York Police Department are investigating a burglary involving bullion and jewelry.

The following bullion was stolen:

50 - 10 oz. silver bars, 10 - 1 oz. gold Krugerrands, 5 - 100 oz. silver bars (Engelhard or Johnson Matthey), 6 - 1 oz. gold American Eagles, 60 - Swiss francs, 10 - 1/2 oz. American Eagles

Investigators with the Carlsbad California police department are investigating a residential burglary where a large coin collection was taken. The collection containing high grade type material was bought in the early seventies and valued at several hundred thousand dollars.

Burglary Mid-American Rare Coin Gallery

In the early morning hours of September 17, 2012 unknown person or persons burglarized the offices of Mid-American Rare Coin Gallery, Inc. A quantity of United States gold coins and currency was stolen.

Coin Shop Robbery Sunnyvale, California

The Sunnyvale, CA police department is investigating the robbery of Mac’s Coins and Collectables. The two suspects young in age were masked and one was described as being “big” and over 6’ tall. A hispanic female may have also been involved in the offense.

Major Burglary Town of Palm Beach, Florida

Detectives in the Town of Palm Beach, Florida are investigating a major burglary which netted the thieves a large amount of coins and bullion.

Major Burglary Sevierville, Tennessee

The Sevierville, Tn Police Department is investigating a major burglary resulting in the loss of over $200,000 in coins and currency from a dealer whose business was located inside Flea Traders Paradise.

The following is a partial list of stolen banknotes and coins; Large amount of high grade large type notes (slabbed and raw), Large amount of large ype Nationals from the South, Large Type Nationals from Tennesse and Knoxville area, 6- $1000 bills, 9- $500 bills, Group of 25 1928 $20 bills consecutive serial numbers with red band original wrapper, 1916 Standing Lib quarter VF NGC, 1928 Peace Dollar MS65 ANACS, 1875 Twenty Cent piece MS65 NGC, Almost complete slabbed Walking Liberty set.

The victim is currently working on a more detailed list of stolen coins and banknotes.
