The seminar will be led by Doug Davis, founder and president of the Numismatic Crime Information Center (NCIC), a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to assisting law enforcement in investigating numismatic crimes.
Established in 1987, the NCIC provides specialized investigative resources to law enforcement agencies at all levels, addressing the complexities of crimes targeting coin collectors and dealers. With decades of experience in law enforcement and numismatics, Davis has become a leading authority on the subject, offering training and support to combat numismatic-related crimes.
CAND invites both members and non-members, including coin show organizers, to participate in this informative webinar. Attendees will have the chance to submit questions during the session, which Michael Findlay, CAND president and moderator, will present to Doug Davis. Dealers with specific incidents or concerns are encouraged to submit them in advance, enabling Davis to address these issues directly in his presentation, ensuring a more relevant and engaging experience for participants.

Registrants are encouraged to email their questions in advance to the Canadian Association of Numismatic Dealers at [email protected] to help ensure a relevant and insightful discussion. Providing questions beforehand will allow the speaker to address specific topics or scenarios during his presentation.
Founded in 1975, CAND is a non-profit association of professional numismatists committed to maintaining high standards of ethics and professionalism in the numismatic trade. Each member adheres to a strict code of ethics, ensuring integrity and trust within the industry.
CAND President Michael Findlay says the seminar represents a valuable opportunity for those involved in the numismatic community to gain insights into current security challenges and learn effective strategies to protect their businesses and collections.
“Security is top of mind for all dealers and we encourage CAND members, non-members and show organizers to join us for this important discussion,” he adds.
Sponsored by CAND, the seminar is free to attend.
